In a recent study aimed towards New Year resolutions to loose weight it has been found that a diet low in fat and based on vegan principles is effective.
This has been suggested by the doctors with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). The vegan-low fat diet is good for shedding the flab and getting healthy. The study by PCRM finds mention in the American Journal of Medicine. It demonstrated that a diet based on low fat plant derivatives is more effective at helping women lose weight and improve insulin sensitivity than other diets comprising omnivorous food.According to Dr. Neal Barnard, the study’s lead author, “The study participants following the vegan diet enjoyed unlimited servings of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and other healthful foods that enabled them to lose weight without feeling hungry. Anyone who wants to make healthy changes in the New Year will do well to try a plant-based diet.”
The ease of the adoption of this plan is its appeal and universal acceptance. It is easy to follow even for people busy in work and with families to look after.
As per reviews it has been demonstrated that patients rate this low-fat vegetarian diet highly in terms of acceptability. They also said the shift to this diet is easy and takes about three weeks or less. So it is easily accepted and followed.
