Older people should exercise regularly to keep agile and healthy.
Mary Nicholson, currently 71 years worked as a flight attendant. She started exercising two years back and finds it too addictive. According to her she was very keen that she be agile and strong.
She is presently training at the Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center. Her exercise regimen includes balancing on one leg, working with weights and stair climbing. She is very determined not to fall and break her bones.Health experts opine that Nicholson is an excellent example to follow especially when statistics reveal that 33% of adults over the age of 65 fall very year. Besides exercises, older people can make their homes safer by installing night lights, bathroom grab bars and slip-resistant floors.
Yoga and tai chi also will come to the elder’s rescue especially to improve balance. Broken wrists, elbows, arms and hips are some of the common injuries that elders suffer owing to a fall.
