The explosion ejected black thick smoke which is still hung over the city. Hospitals have already prepared themselves to take in patients with breathing difficulties due to the smoke.Some of the problems encountered could be congestion of the chest and coughing and lack of concentration due to oxygen level reduction in the brain.

Patients with symptoms like irritation, inflammation of the respiratory tract and irritation to the skin are to be immediately attended by the doctors.
All the people living close to the explosion are requested to stay inside with their doors and windows sealed.
It is said that soot particles from the acid smoke will affect the lungs and cause swelling and also affect the brain. Carbon monoxide in the smoke is very dangerous when inhaled.

The Health Officials concluded that the fire mainly was due to burning of fuel but sometimes carcinogenic products like benzene would also be one of the components causing harm to the general public. But so far no carcinogens have yet been identified.
