A woman’s imagination , fertile as ever, finds herself extremely attracted to Men with deep tones, pronounced during her fertile phase, according to research at St. Andrews University.
A deep voice is said to be a symbol of vitality, good health and healthy genes, the combination being the best bet for successful procreation. Earlier research had also indicated that women were drawn to raw masculinity, good looks and macho appeal, during the fertile phase. A Deep voice indicated high levels of testosteroneBut when the fertility phase passes, women tend to go for the caring men, with not so masculine voices, even a feminine voice, that gives the comfort of a caring , sharing , and the promise of a long term relationship.
Dr David Feinberg, St Andrews University researcher, said: "We already know male vocal attractiveness is highly related to masculinity and men with attractive voices have more mating success than men with unattractive voices. We asked women to assess attractiveness and dominance of voices across the menstrual cycle and predicted that preference for masculinity in men's voices would be stronger when conception risk is high. Women's preferences for masculine voices change over the menstrual cycle: women prefer masculine voices more when fertile."
