Spending hours in front of the computer is not as unhealthy as watching television.
Watching television poses a greater risk of heart diseases than computer use. According to researchers at Queen's University in Ontario, Canada, children who watch a lot of TV are at a higher cardio-metabolic risk. But computer use was not linked to any such problem.
Researchers feel that while watching TV there is no question of energy expenditure. Also, it encourages between-meal snacking.
The study has been published in BMC Public Health.
