During their study of more than 350 participants to ascertain the impact of power in various contexts -at work, with friends, or in romantic relationships, researchers found that feeling powerful in any context enhanced the levels of contentment.

"By leading people to be true to their desires and inclinations -- to be authentic -- power leads individuals to experience greater happiness," the researchers concluded.
