What is Salma Hayek`s Take on Pregnancy?
Actress Salma Hayek spoke about the phase in her life which gave her a lot of joy as well as a bit of concern about getting out of shape.
Her daughter Valentina has grown beautifully and is five-years-old. Having gone past the pregnancy phase, she is in a position to speak her story and boost the confidence of many women going through a vulnerable phase. She believes that the present society puts a lot of pressure on women to stay in shape and sometimes this becomes a tall order for them, especially during pregnancy.

Though, Salma quite enjoyed seeing herself grow out of shape, she had to keep her confidence high by reminding herself that all this was for a positive cause. She had gained almost 23 kgs during her pregnancy.

"I gained so much weight, I got an opportunity to see myself completely disfigured in many different ways - for a very good reason - and I don't regret it for a second. That's when I started appreciating my body. The things that I used to criticize, they were not that bad after all."

Even though she did experience a bit of negativity initially about losing a great figure, she said it was all due to the pressure society puts on women. "We've got to fight for our confidence every day in modern life because we live in a society that is very harsh to women. You have to be smart and successful and a good mother and beautiful and young and skinny forever."

Giving a boost to women in their forties, who might feel like it is the end of youth, she said, "Success is happiness. If you've found the right companion for life, a good relationship with loved ones, if you are healthy - my God, you are immensely successful. A lot of women think that this is the age when you start getting depressed. To that I say, 'No, no, no, no, no!' I'm having the best time of my life."
