A 34-year old woman from Essex, who was told that she would never have babies and who failed in two IVF attempts to conceive, credits sausage McMuffins for finally being able to carry her triplets to full term. Laura Dixon and her partner Tim had tried unsuccessfully to conceive the natural way for the last 10 years and saw their first two attempts of conceiving through IVF, with the first attempt being abandoned while suffering a miscarriage at eight weeks at a second attempt.
During the third attempt, she was told to increase her protein levels and opted to eat a daily Big Breakfast and sausage McMuffin along with burgers, shakes and buns from McDonalds. Laura, who was a vegetarian, also had a craving for meat during her pregnancy.
“It all seems like a blur now. I just remember the cravings were so strong that I would wake up in the night and make my husband go and get me a McDonald's. Eating meat definitely helped me get all the protein you need when you're pregnant. I think it could be one of the reasons I managed to carry all three to full term”, she said.
