A new research by lingerie firm Playtex has revealed that women were generally happier after turning 50. The survey found that 49 percent of the 1,500 women reported being happier after turning 50. The survey of 1,500 British women aged 20 to 65 also found that many women enjoyed improvements in sex, relationships as well as general well-being after crossing half century of birthdays.
Some 23 percent of the 50-plus women also said that they would be taking up a new sport in 2013 as compared to just 11 percent of women in their 20s. This adventurous nature is highlighted by Linda Barker, 51, who took up diving this year on the TV show Splash!
"I feel more confident and excited about life than ever before and I'm so happy that the research by Playtex really helps to challenge those outdated notions of what being 50 feels like," Barker told the Daily Mail. "We're not the same at 50 that our mothers were - we are now a truly Ageless Generation of women."
