Women tend to ignore signs of heart attack -- especially during the holidays.
It seems that women often tend to ignore the symptoms of heart attack. This could be because the warning signs of heart attack in men like acute pain, tightness, burning and a dull ache in the chest may not necessary be present in women having a heart attack.
Dr. Karla Kurrelmeyer, a specialist in women's heart disease at the Methodist DeBakey Heart Center in Houston says that Women tend to ignore signs of heart attack -- especially during the holidays. "Nausea, shoulder pain and exhaustion can be the only signs a female experiences during a (heart) attack.” says the doctor.Though both men and women delay getting help during a heart attack, women go to the hospital a good one hour later than men do after experiencing a heart attack says
Kurrelmeyer. He urges women to get help immediately when experiencing a heart attack even if they are cooking a meal.
