California-based company Ossur, announced that the company's 'Power Knee' which is better at mimicking the natural walking of the patient with minimum efforts, will now be available.

The world's first motorized prosthetic knee is now available in Europe and United States. The California-based company Ossur, announced that the company's 'Power Knee' which is better at mimicking the natural walking of the patient with minimum efforts, will now be available for above-knee amputees.

Amputees using conventional prostheses have to move them consciously by making direct use of the anatomical structures in the remaining limb. However, Power Knee is a battery operated device which has been designed to function as an integrated extension of its user.
