Australian surgeons claimed to have performed the world's first triple-transplant operation involving the liver, kidney and pancreas of a patient , said a report Monday.
Surgeons at Sydney's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital carried out the procedures on Leanne Myles of Cowra in central-eastern New South Wales, reported the online edition of Radio Australia.Leanne, 33, was suffering from an auto-immune disease.
The woman who had developed liver and kidney failure, and diabetes made a full recovery after delicate operations to replace her liver, kidney and pancreas.
