The number of deaths caused by a deadly yellow fever outbreak in Sudan has rose to 50 after 18 new deaths were reported in the western region of the country. The latest fatalities were reported in West Darfur state, where 40 more people were infected with the disease, according to Xinhua Sunday.
State Health Minister Ahmed Ishaq Yaqoup said pesticides are being sprayed, and vaccines and mosquito nets are being distributed in the affected areas to tackle the disease.
According to the health ministry, 32 others died elsewhere in the country after suffering from the disease.
