Arizona police in US arrested a high school teacher Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of having sexual contact with a minor.
Affairs between women school teachers and minor students continue to be reported from various parts of the US. This time it has become juicier for it seems to be a case of lesbian relationship.
Gay Lyn Turley of Arizona was arrested Wednesday on 10 counts of sexual contact with a minor. The 42-year-old Mesa High School teacher and coach admitted to having a sexual relationship with a female student who moved in with her after graduation.Police said Turley's relationship with her former student began in 2003, when the girl was 16, and that all sexual contact between the two took place at Turley's Gilbert home.
When the girl turned 18, she moved in with Turley.
The victim, now 20, was recently arrested after a domestic dispute, but police said that did not affect the current investigation because she was legally an adult.
'Anything that occurred after that doesn't change the set of circumstances from the time she was 16 to 18,' said Sgt. Mark Marino of the Gilbert Police Department.
The victim moved out of Turley's home in 2007 and reported their relationship to police on Dec. 10.
When investigators interviewed Turley, police said, she admitted to the relationship and said she planned to kill herself when the investigation was over.
Turley was denied bond and was placed under house arrest with an electronic monitoring system.

The school authorities placed Turley on paid leave and the district is working with the police and conducting an internal investigation, said Kathy Bareiss, a district spokeswoman.

Turley coached women's golf and softball at the school in addition to her teaching duties, and Bareiss said the district was working to fill those positions for the second semester.
Gilbert Police released a statement expressing concern that other minors might be involved and encouraging anyone with more information to contact the department.
