A survey carried out by a discount website in Britain reveals young people living in cities ordered an average of 25 takeaways every month. The survey involved around 2,000 people and was carried out by vouchercodes.co.uk. The researchers found that people between 25 and 34 years of age spent around £2,620 every year on fast food items including pizzas, curries and fish and chips.
People living in London were the biggest spenders, shelling out £221.63 every month on takeaways while people over 45 years of age spent the least, around £105 per month. “Takeaways are now a part of everyday life for busy consumers. But they do not need to be unhealthy or expensive”, co-founder of vouchercodes, Duncan Jennings said.
