A generation of young women are putting off motherhood because they cannot afford a family, a new survey has revealed.

The survey found that 42 percent of working women under 30 said they were considering delaying having children or more children because of financial worries.
Nearly a third of working women in their 30s said they were also considering delaying having children or extending their family for money reasons.
Around one in six mothers said they had "delayed having children due to financial pressures".
"We find, worryingly, that a significant minority of women have delayed having children due simply to financial factors. The proportion who might do so in future is even higher," the Daily Mail quoted the report as stating.
