Zero COVID-19 Cases in Hyderabad Since Pandemic Began
The Hyderabad city that has never logged zero COVID-19 cases was relieved on January 16 for the first time since the start of the pandemic. Though the rest of the districts in Telangana have seen zero cases since 2021, it is the first time Hyderabad logs zero cases.
According to the state health department, Rangareddy district saw only one case on the same day. Since January 12, when nine cases were reported, Hyderabad saw a steady decrease with two to three cases per day.

Good News!! Hyderabad is now COVID-19 Free

On Sunday, two cases were reported in the state, one each from Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri. Furthermore, the current scene is opposed to the peak cases recorded due to the Omicron variant across the state in 2022.

Hyderabad has even recorded cases on non-peak days since March 2020. In such a scenario, it was unthinkable that the city would ever have zero cases, everyone was infected at the time. It's a huge relief now.

Experts feel this is a positive change, considering that countries like China are in a difficult situation. Many Indian scientists have stated that the BF.7 variant had little impact on India.

This has proven to be true in Telangana and Hyderabad as well. Even though huge gatherings happen during the festival season, Hyderabad has seen a stable scene. However, people always need to be cautious as variants continue to emerge.

Most of the cases across the country were reported from Maharashtra and Kerala, which was 67% of the active caseload. At present, India has reported 102 Covid cases in 24 hours, while the active caseload declined to 1,922. The recovery rate stands at 98.81%. Hope India is bouncing back from COVID-19 pandemic.
