Effects of High Intake of Salt

Salt, the silent spice brings out the taste of every food it is added to. It is one of the essential ingredients in our food and while its intake is necessary for good health, too much salt could prove to be detrimental. A recent research finding says that high salt intake, that is more than two teaspoons, can double the risk of heart failure. Authors of the study point out that the role of high salt intake in the development of heart failure was unknown.
