I am resident of Nagpur, Vidharbha region . Under the guise of enviournment protection act of 1986 and noise polluction act a police constable booked one of our Ganesh mandal member during the on going Ganesh festival . It is rediculous, the reason we were playing the bhajans on small domestic speakears attached to a DVD which is not having powerful inbuilt amplifer.
The Constable just took out a decible meter measured the sound and without giving the explaination asked one of the member to sign and recieve the notice and even added that we may continue to play the music. This is really paradoxical.
I am resident of the community in a state adjacent to UT Chandigarh). There is on-going sound system installed mysteriously in neighbourhood but has mobility to cover larger part of the state/region.
I am surprised that there are TEMPLES, GURUDWARAS, SOCIETIES FOR WELFARE of community members. The noise level in the environment is to uncontrollable level for anybody and is to create the disturbance in the region on political, social, religious issues. For example, turning to temple going people or other responsible persons against each other, The noise level is of sometimes unbearable level that it adds to disturbance by quotting people from seats in administration of the region.
Police stations, Heath Departments do hav their recrruits with some education on ttheir responsibilities. However, it has become a fun game for everybody but at a cost as mentioned on public health.
Adding to that these people have involvement with foregn (overseas) persons contributing and participant to this illegal activity. This is what everyone understands but have no idea what is happening around and who could be turned to.
I take this opportunity ( keeping myself anaonymous, for safety) to let you decide on who could be approached in these circumstances.
It is mockery of the ACT by the government of India AND aware ness of the officals on the environmental pollution. TRUE.
Thanking you,
Faithfully,
APS (anand), Mohali and Chandigarh.
