Illness & Disease

Africa is home to numerous illnesses and diseases; many of them have similar symptoms. It is best to consult a tropical health specialist or travel clinic for more advice before traveling to Africa.

Vaccinations for some serious diseases are available to help protect visitors from falling sick. Personally, if you are careful about your diet, where you go and whom you come into contact with, it would greatly reduce your chances of contracting an illness. On the other hand, whatever precautions you may take, you might still succumb to mild health discomforts such as an upset tummy, caused by change in diet or the weather condition! But, this will clear in a few days and should certainly not deter you from enjoying your African passage.
