Atorvastatin is prescribed for treating primary hypercholesterolemia, homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, mixed dyslipidemia,and primary dysbetalipoproteinemia.
Atorvastatin is also used for the prevention or the treatment of stroke, heart attack, angina, and atherosclerosis.
