E 4

Other medical conditions

• People traveling with various other medical conditions, can obtain information and suggestion from medical departments of Airlines, Aviation administration, from local travel clinics, or from online travel information, before undertaking air travel. (Check out Resources for help and Information).
• Most airlines provide wheel chairs and stretchers for passengers with medical needs.
• They provide special equipments like Intravenous lines or Ventilators, if such travelers have trained personnel accompanying them. This is possible only by prior request with the concerned Airlines.
• People wearing contact lenses are advised to wear single day disposable contact lenses, which can be worn for longer period without wetting, as the cabin humidity can cause dryness in the lenses. They should also carry extra pairs of lenses or wear prescription glasses during flight.
• People wearing hearing aids should carry extra batteries.
